KURBAN BAYRAM ROAD TRIP

It was the time of year for Kurban Bayram, the Feast of the Sacrifice, a 4 day religious festival commemorating the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, before God intervened and provided a ram instead.  Every Muslim family is obliged to sacrifice an animal, keeping 1/3 for themselves and sharing the remainder to the poor and needy.  Our trip begins in Bursa, with the first stop in Adrasan on the Mediterranean Sea.

Perfect autumn weather and colors

Lunch break at a Celtikci

The "sale yards" in the village for Kurban Bayram
Welcome to Antalya and first glimpse of the Med

Welcome to Adrasan, a perfect little beach community, popular with older British expats, and close to Olympos.  The Changa Hotel/Bungalows was tucked into the far end of the beach and was such a beautiful location.  Highly recommended as a quiet, beautiful place to stay, right on the beach.

Perfect time of year to travel.....no crowds
We crossed this river to get to the hotel/beach.  It was lined with similar establishments and restaurants

A variety of all forms of nature from water birds, ducks sunning themselves on a restaurant deck, to oranges, pomegranates, huge cacti and papyrus grass along the river
